Rubicon Brewing Company Won 2 Ribbons at the CA State Fair Commercial Brewing Competition for the Following Beers:

Sin Bin Black Lager –
Category: Dark Lager, 3rd Place
(4.6% ABV / 1.048 OG / 20 IBU) Dark, balanced and eminently drinkable, this sessionable lager has spent enough time in the penalty box for the culmination of the hockey season. Malt characters of caramel and bitter dark chocolate carry through with a mild noble hop bitterness that is a perfect summer time beer for the dark beer lover.

Natasha Bourbon Barrel-Aged Russian Imperial Stout –
Category: Barrel Aged (in Barrel greater than 20% ABV),
2nd Place

(10.3% ABV / 1.099 OG / 53 IBU) Our Russian Imperial Stout, barrel-aged in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels for 9 months. Last winter’s Boris Badenov got a big upgrade over the past year bringing a touch of vanilla and toast to the already rich aroma and roasted chocolate notes.

Welcome to Rubicon Brewing Company!

Rubicon Brewing Company is the longest-running brewery in the Sacramento Area. Locally owned and independently operated since 1987, Rubicon Brewing Company has been the landmark brewery of the Capital City culture for nearly three decades! Located on Capitol Ave in the middle of beautiful Midtown Sacramento, Rubicon’s roomy dining area, bar and outside patio are perfect for enjoying a locally brewed craft beer on a sunny Sacramento day. Rubicon is well loved and recognized by our patrons whether you have been coming here for 25 years or it’s your first time. Our award winning fine ales and handcrafted beers are brewed onsite and pair wonderfully with our delicious burgers, wings and other home-style food options.

Not only do we pride ourselves on quality craft beers, but being a positive part of our community is a major component of daily life at the Rubicon. We are committed to showing our appreciation for the community that supports us not only because we love Midtown Sacramento, but it also helps us keep connected to the patrons of our brewery. This practice has built the trust and loyalty of our customers that has been a fundamental part of our growth. We are a family friendly brewery and welcome folks of all ages for lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Rubicon Brewing Company has hosted a number of interns from the American Brewers Guild as well as UC Davis. These brewers have now gone on to build successful brewing careers of their own! We take great pleasure in helping up-and-coming brewers and breweries begin their own journeys.

At Rubicon, you will enjoy distinctive craft beer that is brewed with local ingredients and made with a unique, local touch. Our famous India Pale Ale (IPA) was first brewed in 1987 and went on to win back-to-back Gold medals at the Great American Beer Festival for the first two years American IPA was a category. This means that our IPA set the standard by which all other American IPA’s are judged and for that reason we have kept the recipe true to the original. Rubicon has continued its tradition of innovation and creativity in brewing with other beers like Monkey Knife Fight, R.B.I.P.A., and many other fantastic craft beers!

We participate in fun local events such as Sacramento Beer Week, Capital Beer Fest, and more! Our rich history makes us a must-stop on any California brewery circuit. So, whether you see us at a beer fest, on the shelf at your local store, or have a chance to swing by the pub, you know that our products are made with the greatest care and with a skilled hand. Rubicon Brewery is the place to hang for great company, appetizing food, and ice cold craft beer!
